VIPA and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to Host Public MeetingRegarding Schooner Bay Channel

The Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA) will host a joint public meeting with officials from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) at 6 p.m. on January 9, 2024, in the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport Terminal Cruise Lounge in St. Croix.  VIPA and the USACE will discuss a feasibility study regarding the Schooner Bay Channel in the Christiansted Harbor. VIPA wants to dredge the Schooner Bay Channel to provide berthing for mini-cruise ships, passenger ferries, and luxury vessels to Christiansted. The USACE is now leading this project. VIPA has signed a Feasibility Cost Share Agreement with the USACE for this project.
