Inclement Weather Causes Cruise Ship Cancellations for USVI *Updated*

Adverse weather caused by hurricanes and developing storm systems in the Atlantic Ocean has prompted two cruise ships to cancel scheduled visits to the U.S. Virgin Islands this week. Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas ship has canceled its visit to the Ann E. Abramson Marine Facility in Frederiksted, St. Croix, on September 12, 2023. The Harmony of the Seas has also canceled its call to the Austin “Babe” Monsanto Marine Terminal in Crown Bay, St. Thomas, on September 12. Both ships have changed their itineraries to avoid the Atlantic storms.

The next scheduled cruise ship call to Crown Bay, St. Thomas will be the Wonder of Seas on September 13, 2023. On St. Croix, the next scheduled ship visit will be on September 26, 2023, when the Adventure of the Seas will berth in Frederiksted. Cruise schedules for the USVI are posted on the seaports section of VIPA’s official website, www.viport.com.

Important Update: VIPA was notified that the Wonder of the Seas has also canceled its call to Crown Bay on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, due to inclement weather. The next scheduled cruise ship call to Crown Bay will be on September 19, 2023, by the Harmony of the Seas.
